Frisbee at Patrick Henry College

Frisbee

There are certain sports that schools are good at. Clemson or Alabama for instance—college football fans will know that those schools, in particular, are known for their prowess at getting a leather-bound ball from one side of a field to the other. That’s slightly less true of PHC. Patrick Henry College is better known for the ability of its students to argue supreme court cases and the details of compelling interests before the state.

That being said, Patrick Henry College students certainly do enjoy to play sports. One of those sports which has developed and loyal fan base is Frisbee.

There’s a group chat with over fifty student participants. At the drop of a message, there’s always someone who wants to play Frisbee regardless of the weather or the time. In the rain? No problem. At 11:00 PM? Yep—that’s been done before. In the winter? Players will just move indoors to the basketball gym.

Besides being a very bookish community, the students at Patrick Henry College are extremely physically active. Nowhere is that more evident than with the Patrick Henry College Frisbee community. At the end of the semester students put together a Frisbee tournament to pit the best players of the community against each other.
